PPIA Junior Summer Institute Programs

The PPIA Junior Summer Institute is a seven-week program structured to introduce or strengthen skills in economics, statistics, policy analysis, writing, public speaking and organization/time management. At the end of the seven-week program, students will prepare and present a comprehensive group report on a current policy issue that will encompass the skills acquired in their coursework, including the seminar on the intercultural dimensions of policy making, field research, policy analysis, and writing and computer workshops.

Curriculum:
Required coursework will include seven weeks of classroom instruction in:

  • Quantitative Methods for Policy Analysis
  • Economics for Policy Analysis
  • Policy Workshop (International and Domestic)
  • Policy Writing and Analysis
  • Intercultural Dimensions of Policy Making

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

The Endowment’s Junior Fellows Program offers 8-10 one-year fellowships to uniquely qualified graduating seniors and individuals. Carnegie Junior Fellows work as research assistants to the Endowment’s senior associates. Junior Fellows have the opportunity to conduct research for books, co-author journal articles and policy papers, participate in meetings with high-level officials, contribute to congressional testimony and organize briefings attended by scholars, activists, journalists and government officials.
